Gap Holiday Cheer

So this particular Gap commercial accentuiates the ideas of uniqueness and holiday cheer. These clothes help to 'liberate' our holiday cheer and our belief. They name many different religions and sing a happy little tune. I think that the real message is our clothes bring you holiday cheer and help to liberate your spirituality especially around christmas time because happiness is buying people things for christmas and that makes you a better person. So its really just a huge circle one thing leads to another and so the cycle continues. - Ashley M

  1. This commercial just makes me realize how commercialized Christmas has become. To me, adding a religious aspect to it tries to tie it back to being a religious holiday but overall they are still advertising for clothes that they want to sell during the holiday season.

  2. To the world, Christmas is all about presents and celebrating materialistic things. People have forget the true meaning of Christmas! I agree with Steffanie, adding an aspect of religion tries to tie it back to the real meaning but, it doesn't work. What about the people who can't afford Gap clothing? Do they still have a holiday filled with Cheer?
